Stephen Grant Receives Industry Achievement Award

Stephen Grant recognised for almost four decades of innovation in plumbing and heating industry.

Founder of Grant Engineering, one of Ireland and the UK’s leading heat engineering specialists, Stephen Grant has been recognised for his commitment to innovation, performance and precision at a prestigious industry event in Belfast.

Grant, who founded the company in 1978, accepted the biggest award for an individual who has achieved and contributed to the plumbing and heating industry at a glittering ceremony in the Hilton Hotel Belfast.
The Plumbing and Heating Awards are one of the highlights of the industry calendar and Stephen Grant’s dedication and commitment to driving forward the development of sustainable solutions for installers and households, was just one of the reasons the judges felt Stephen was the most worthy winner.

Commenting on the award the judges said,
“Stephen has demonstrated an ability to not only adapt and respond to customer demand but to be one step in front and focused on the dynamics of changing energy needs and a growing emphasis on the environment.”

Grant design and manufacture reliable heating products award winning oil-fired condensing boilers and the latest renewable products. With a reputation for quality that is second to none, all their products are designed to deliver market leading durability and efficiency.
“The company continues to build on what is an enviable reputation within the heating industry by adapting and developing products that help to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels. The judges particularly commend Stephen for succeeding in growing and building on the strong foundations of Grant Engineering in 1978 with continued investment and innovation.”

The company was also highly commended for their highly targeted and very proactive marketing campaign for the Grant Vortex Condensing Oil Boiler. The panel was impressed by the significant effort in developing and communicating the product’s features and benefits to both consumer and trade audiences. Alongside traditional advertising and PR, the commercially successful campaign went the extra mile with installer evenings that maximised exposure for the product.

Commenting on the recognition, Stephen Grant said,
“It is an honour to be recognised by my peers in the industry and my passion for the industry has not waned since I started out almost 40 years ago. I must say that the company would not be the success it is today without the drive and passion that my team share with me for developing new and innovative technologies that are sustainable, high-performance and affordable alternatives for heating homes.”

In addition to producing some of the highest efficiency boilers available in Ireland, Grant is also known for its corporate social responsibility initiative with Soul of Haiti which began in 2007 when Stephen Grant visited the country as a finalist in the Ernst & Young ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ awards. As part of the initiative, 70 entrepreneurs and business leaders from Ireland travelled to Haiti to exercise their strategic expertise to help improve selected communities.

The charity, which empowers communities to create their own success now has eight projects to which Grant contributes including the installation of solar powered freezers to allow for storage of fish and creation of ice to enable fish to be transported to markets in other towns. Grant also participates in the Young Entrepreneur Programme, which works to support, promote and encourage entrepreneurship in young people by facilitating and delivering education programmes to primary schools.

Grant Engineering is set to add to its range of economical and environmentally friendly boilers later this year, with the launch of a new and more compact condensing biomass boiler – the Grant VECTA. This innovative product will incorporate proven Grant Vortex technology and offer up to 95% operating efficiency.
