2023 was a year filled with dedication, collaboration and achievement for our team, partners, and customers as we continued to deliver reliability, efficiency and cost-effectiveness through our portfolio of innovative and sustainable heating technologies and home heating design service. Here are some of our highlights;
Award-winners
The Grant Vortex HVO biofuel ready condensing boiler enjoyed further success in winning ‘Heating Product of the Year’ at the 2023 Plumbing & Heating Awards where the judging panel described the product as a real breakthrough in renewable energy research.
Commenting on the award, Stephen Grant, Founder said, “We are delighted to receive this continued recognition for our HVO biofuel ready Grant Vortex condensing boiler. By using 100% HVO for heating, we can help meet carbon emissions targets and enable rural and hard to heat homes to transition to a renewable green alternative from 100% kerosene at an affordable cost and minimum disruption to their home lives. Looking forward to the future, using 100% HVO can provide a more sustainable way to heat existing homes.”
Training courses
Throughout 2023, our training courses continued to be popular amongst heating installers, plumbers, BER and Energy Assessors, service engineers and architects, throughout Ireland and further afield. All courses are available online through the Grant eLearning Academy, and onsite at our state-of-the-art training facilities in Birr, Co. Offaly.
Keith Scully, Head of the Grant Training Academy said, “Our courses both online and in person have remained extremely popular throughout the year. This included the ‘heat pump technology and appropriate heat emitter sizing’ course which enables delegates to learn more about Grant’s heat pumps and heat emitters and how when working together, they can maximise efficiencies and long-term carbon and cost savings.

Grant’s fleet of vehicles make the switch from diesel to HVO
Several of our distribution lorries switched to being fueled by renewable biofuel alternative Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), a move which is helping us as a company reduce CO2 carbon emissions by up to 90%.
At present five, 18-tonne lorries are being fueled by HVO biofuel as we deliver our home heating products to merchants throughout Northern Ireland. Our offices are already heated by HVO biofuel and this transition further reinforces our commitment to a sustainable future.
What’s coming up in 2024
As we enter a new year, the drive towards sustainable home heating is more important than ever, and we continue our focus on developing highly efficient, innovative heating products that are easy to install, work seamlessly together and ensure long term financial and carbon savings for the homeowner.
Our R&D team continues to advance our product ranges and 2024 will see the announcement of new additions to our product portfolio.
With the increased interest in HVO biofuel we will also continue our support for the use of HVO biofuel in decarbonising home heating in existing hard to heat properties and help achieve carbon reduction targets.
